being sick sucks.... i went to the doctor and i had a temp of 101. I don't have the flu or strep throat... but they think i have bronchitis. The best part of it all is they gave me cough syrup with CODINE in it :) makes ya feel real good.
i just slept for 16 hours. feel better. |

i hate when teachers don't know what the fuck they are talking about and they just go on and on as if they do. i am taking a class called "working in america" and it is so dumb. we do a ton of reading about completely different things and then we are supposed to write a paper about the readings and create a thesis connecting them in some way, the only thing is... they have nothing in common! he is so full of shit and it makes me angry.
on a lighter note... everything else is fine, although i could use some more money. does anyone know of any places hiring right now? i hate my job. |

i was hoping my new years eve would turn out like the casiotone song "new years kiss"
well:
-i didn't wake up in a boys bed with my pants off.
-i didn't get two messages from my sister asking who my new years kiss was.
-i didn't crash parties looking for a new years kiss (okay maybe a little).
-i didn't get kissed in a pantry against pancake mix.
but... i did fall into a huuuge puddle of mud and i did kiss katie for midnight. that was pretty magical. it was a memorable new years eve filled with champagne, mud, and cheap softcore porn. thanks to all i had my fun with :)

i visit that website everyday now. the reason? portland.
i am moving to portland next year, no matter what! i am so ready for it and i am ready to leave iowa for a year or so. if i love it out there, which i am sure i will, i will stay longer.

thursday night was a random night. i went into work for an hour and wasn't planning on doing anything when my sister asked if i wanted to go see phil's band at gabe's (picador, whatever). i decided i would and we got there around 945. when we got there we played some darts and her friend andre from her work place came and hung out and ended up kicking our asses in darts. i still believe i am good at it though. we went upstairs to see their band and another band called "book of maps" was playing. they are from portland and are pretty good. later on there was some sort of dance party going on downstairs and it was rather weird, but fun. they played songs by britney spears which was even weirder. i met a lovely boy from book of maps and we danced a lot. too bad people have to live so far away when you like them :( . i am going to move to portland someday. overall it was a very fun night and i probably got too drunk, but i do that from time to time. i will never be able to hear joanna newsome "sadie" without thinking of this fine gentleman. goodbye. |

-i really hate the winter. it sucks when it is really cold outside and you can't smoke inside. i hate winter and i hate snow.
-i am broke. i need more hours but i don't want to work. i need to stop spending my living on booze. it always seems to be the right thing to spend money on at the time.
-i am finally buckling down on doing school work. for some reason being at my parents motivates me to do homework. i spent a couple days there and it was really nice. i miss that place. i miss my room which is now occupied by my brother. it is all dark and mysterious because he has covered the windows with sheets.
-lately i have really been considering moving to chicago sometime next year. i would move to my parents for the first semester and then sometime in january move to chicago. but... moving to chicago in the winter would BLOW. i really want to get out of iowa city and iowa in general. if i find someone absolutely sweet to live with next year in iowa city i will stay.
-i didn't even get any candy for halloween. what is that? |

what is going on for halloween? hmm....
last night i went to cedar rapids and saw "marie antoinette" with mi madre. it was good! i like kirsten dunst a lot so it made it good. it is weird to see jason schwartzman as a serious character. there is a little girl in that movie that plays marie's daughter and she looks a lot like me when i was a little one(my userpic is a good example). i love movies that are set in history with an up to date, modern soundtrack. the soundtrack includes... air, aphex twin, the strokes and much more. i think you should see it and i will go with anyone to see it again!
so tonight when i got off work, i gave my sister's cats to my good friend amanda. she was happy to take them in. her cute little house is much better for them anyway. right when we let them out, they seemed to like the place. they didn't hide, so that was a good sign. i felt kind of guilty giving them away like that, but it is better for ME and them.
tomorrow night is dance party and i really want to get margaritas at mickeys. it is free chips and salsa and 2 dollar margarita night. bonus! |
